Smiles 2 Be
What is Pediatric Dentistry?
Pediatric Dentistry is a branch of dentistry dedicated to the unique dental needs of children from infancy through adolescence.
It encompasses a large range of preventive, diagnostic and treatment services, all specifically adapted to support the developmental stages of a child’s oral health and making it as stress-free as possible, so you can leave with a smile on your face.
Gentle, Expert Dental Services for Growing Smiles
Dental Cleanings
Keeping your teeth healthy and clean requires more than diligent brushing and flossing at home. In many cases, plaque will build upon different areas of the teeth.
Dental Emergencies
Even with excellent oral care, dental emergencies can happen. Seeking care right away can help your child feel better and keep their teeth healthy.
Nitrous Oxide
This safe and effective sedative, commonly known as “laughing gas,” provides relaxation without putting your child to sleep. Administered by our skilled team, it can make dental procedures feel more comfortable and stress-free.
Dental Fillings
A dental filling is a restoration used to repair specific areas of a tooth’s surface that may have become damaged or decayed.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are thin, clear coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. They help protect teeth by preventing cavities and reducing the risk of deep staining.
Dental X-rays
A dental x-ray is an image that enables us to see inside the tooth, as well as below the gumline. These images can help us spot early signs of decay, trauma, or infection.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is commonly found in many dental products, like toothpastes and mouthwashes. It is designed to protect and strengthen a person’s teeth, making them more resistant to decay and other damage.
General Anesthesia
Anesthesia is designed to make dental procedures more comfortable for you. Local aneAnesthesia is used to make dental procedures as comfortable as possible. Our Approach to Pediatric Dentistry
-
Early Dental Care
We recognize the importance of early dental care in laying the foundation for a lifetime of healthy smiles. Regular check-ups from a young age help monitor dental development and address any concerns early on. We recommend seeing your child for the first time around age 1.
-
Preventive Measures
Our emphasis on preventive measures, such as regular cleanings and fluoride treatments, is aimed at safeguarding against common childhood dental issues and promoting optimal oral health.
-
Child-Centered Environment
Understanding that a dental visit can be intimidating for children, our office is designed to create a warm and child-centered environment. Our friendly team is skilled in making every visit a positive experience.
-
Expertise
Pediatric Dentists undergo additional years of training beyond dental school, specifically focused on the unique needs of young patients. This expertise allows for a more effective preventive approach and a comfortable treatment experience for children.
-
Educational Engagement
We believe in empowering both parents and children with knowledge about oral hygiene habits. Through educational engagement, we aim to instill a foundation of proper brushing, flossing, and a healthy diet for lifelong dental wellness.
Our goal is to make a better world for future generations. One smile at a time.
